U.S. citizens are being denied in-state tuition at Florida Universities because were born to undocumented immigrants.

The policy is being challenged in a federal lawsuit filed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), and says the action taken by the Florida Department of Education is unconstitutional and not even in keeping with Florida law.

The article appeared in Go-Jamaica, a Jamaican business directory, and provided the names of several students named in the suit and even mentions that one of the students is going to school part-time because he cannot afford the tuition. The article however would have been more compelling with quotes from the students affected.
